Finding Fortuna: A Technical Mirroring of the Mind
The Hellenistic tradition bifurcated early in its codification, one track following Dorotheus and the other his younger contemporary, Ptolemy. The key drivers of the split are many, but they converge in a single issue: whether to reverse the Lot of Fortune for nocturnal charts. In close examination of what is said about lot theory, from Manilius to Dorotheus, from Ptolemy to Valens, we will outline why the choice you make regarding Fortune does matter, perhaps in ways you hadn’t considered. A Horde of Triplets: Understanding Three-Planet Combinations
Though three-planet combinations excite with their promise of concentrated meaning and power, their complexity often severely impedes clear and useful interpretation. Starting with Vettius Valens’ three-planet interpretive text as a basis, we will explore all 36 combinations of the seven visible planets. In order to make this mass comprehensible, we will break them down into families based on commonalities between the constituent planets, with a special eye toward malefics, benefics, sect, and elemental qualities. Finally, we’ll pull in specific instances of three-planet combinations from adjacent texts, as well as three-planet yogas from Vedic astrology for further illumination.

Seven Stages
In the foundational Tetrabiblos, Ptolemy lays out a simple system dividing human life into seven archetypal stages, each assigned to one of the seven visible planets. Though upon first glance over-simple and unindividualized, in truth this technique provides us with both a quietly sophisticated developmental model, and an entirely functional time lord system. We’ll look at the seven planetary stages, compare them with developmental psychology, use them to time events, and demonstrate how they can bolster other timing methods. (Hellenistic) (beginner)

Far from Home: Inversions of Planets Opposing their Domicile
Planets occupying the zodiacal sign opposite their domicile (ex Venus in Scorpio) are as far away from their home sign as possible within the zodiac, a condition that became known as being in “detriment.” Full of tension and creative potential, planets occupying their opposite sign take on an inverted quality that can bring feelings of alienation yet also bring about the emergence of new ideas from counter-cultural perspectives. The Secret Meaning of Exaltations?
Although it is clear that ancient astrologers considered both the domicile and exaltation rulers of the signs to be of great importance, it isn’t clear how the earliest astrologers differentiated the two categories of planetary rulers, either philosophically or in practical application. A Paradigm Shift
As we live through one of most historical periods, we stand on the bridge of transition from an old world to a new one. There is still more to purge and humanity will need to work hard in overcoming the trauma, anxiety, divisiveness, and confusion brought from the past few years. As Pluto moves back and forth from Capricorn to Aquarius, how might this unfold as we battle out the damage control before moving into a new and brighter light.(Mundane) (all)

Is there a connection between astrology and psychedelics? At Esalen Institute in the mid-1970s, Stanislav Grof and his doctoral student Richard Tarnas were trying to solve the mystery of the inter- and intra-individual variability of LSD sessions. The radical suggestion that astrology might be the answer opened up a vast new domain of research. As the biographer of Grof, archetypal astrologer Becca Tarnas is uniquely positioned to present on this topic of the mutually illuminating relationship between psychedelics and astrology. Day Dreaming into the Sky
“Forget what you’ve been taught…so you can remember what you know” Alan Cohen
Astrology does not need to bow to the current collective ‘religion’ called rationalism, but rather, should proudly claim its core principles as a truth, ones that ration alone cannot explain. As above, so below, as within, so without – as the universe, so the soul! By opening to the ‘irrational’ and expanding our field of awareness, we can reclaim our Archaic Ancestral inheritance and commune directly with nature and the cosmos. Using various techniques and practices, Patricia will guide you to open to the universe within and explore the living archetypes… beyond what you think you know! (For those joining virtually, earbuds are recommended for the experiential exercises)

The Great Ingress Decade
The 2020s present a rare occurrence as the three outer planets ingress new signs: Pluto/Aquarius (2023/2024), Neptune/Aries (2025) and Uranus/Gemini (2025). Collective trends will shift and force change, causing a reaction to maintain the present at the expense of necessary evolution until societies adjust to the new impulses. Exploring these new trends will allow each of us to adapt to any necessary changes, and, allows for opportunities to individually flourish in our communities. (EA) (all)
