The arc of a life is different for those who are in movement and those who stay rooted in one place. Mutable signs and cadent houses, often described as ‘weak’ in traditional texts, can be un-moored in some way. While these placements encourage the quest for knowledge, they can also describe itinerants, outcasts, exiles and wanderers. Whether one wanders out of choice or is thrown out upon the world, a quest begins, and for some it never ends. In many spiritual traditions the teacher travels from place to place. What is the pattern of a life with these influences, and how may it lead to wisdom?
