Flaherty, Dennis – Saturn’s Sadi Sati: The Time of Your Life

Where western astrologers measure the maturity of a person by the Saturn return, around age 30 when our responsibility is increasing in the world. In addition, eastern astrologers pay close attention to Saturn’s passage over the Moon; called the Sadi Sati. Sadi Sati means 7 1/2 years, and that is how long it takes Saturn to transit the constellations on either side of the Moon. Saturn is the planet of the Winter Solstice, the darkest time of the year, and therefore his transit of the Moon represents a time of growing darkness, often representing the proverbial dark night of the soul. Yet, paradoxically, it is the ephemeral darkness that illuminates the greatest spiritual truths.
