Walsh, Patricia – What If???

Do not say, ‘It is morning,’ and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name……… Rabindranath Tagore. A common concept throughout history is the idea that naming something or someone gives one not only understanding of, but power over that person or object. To name something/someone is to fix an identity that usually does not evolve over time, which is why many people, who feel they have outgrown old identities change their names. Yet in astrology we have fixed our understanding of the ‘archetypal beings’ we call planets and signs, squarely in the Greek and Roman mind set and their associated mythologies. The implication of this is subtle, yet pervasive and informed by the notion that all we need to know about civilization and ourselves comes from these cultures. There is so much more to understand about ourselves and these beings…………what if the planets were named for different mythologies than the Greco/Roman?? Patricia will help you see with new eyes, into further possibilities and dimensions of meaning, of the planetary ‘archetypal beings’, by the telling of stories and star mythologies from various ancient cultures. Pull up a seat around the campfire and listen to the riches that our ‘Deep Ancestry’ offers us.
