1:00 pm – 5:30 pm PDT | Pre-Conference Workshop - $115/$145 (this is an add-on, not included with conference registration)

Workshop Description
Though three-planet combinations excite with their promise of concentrated meaning and power, their complexity often severely impedes clear and useful interpretation. Starting with Vettius Valens’ three-planet interpretive text as a basis, we will explore all 36 combinations of the seven visible planets. In order to make this mass comprehensible, we will break them down into families based on commonalities between the constituent planets, with a special eye toward malefics, benefics, sect, and elemental qualities. Finally, we’ll pull in specific instances of three-planet combinations from adjacent texts, as well as three-planet yogas from Vedic astrology for further illumination.

“Forget what you’ve been taught…so you can remember what you know” Alan Cohen

Astrology does not need to bow to the current collective ‘religion’
called rationalism, but rather, should proudly claim its core principles as a truth, ones that ration alone cannot explain. As above, so below, as within, so without – as the universe, so the soul! By opening to the ‘irrational’ and expanding our field of awareness, we can reclaim our Archaic Ancestral inheritance and commune directly with nature and the cosmos. Using various techniques and practices, Patricia will guide you to open to the universe within and explore the living archetypes… beyond what you think you know! (For those joining virtually, earbuds are recommended for the experiential exercises)

12:45 - 1:15 pm PDT - Opening Ceremony
1:15 - 2:15 pm PDT

Lecture Description:
The explosion of interest in Astrology in the last decade has completely shifted the landscape of our field. More people are calling themselves professional Astrologers, more people are aware of the dynamics of their birth chart, and more people are turning to Astrologers in order to help them navigate these extraordinary times. With Astrology being called to stand up for itself on the world stage, how will we respond? What is next for Astrology in the world to come?

Saturday / 1:45 pm PDT
Holistic Health & Astrology: Infusing Emotional & Psychological with the Physiological

Depictions of Chiron with the many heroes he initiated suggest profound mirroring between teacher and student: bodies arched together, gazing in a shared direction, mutual stillness. In this talk we will explore how this creature of two worlds moved between them and empowered students to do the same. Additionally, he described how to find their names. This lecture will describe and show these techniques. By the end of this lecture, attendees should have the basic tools to identify these daemons. Some historical and philosophical material will also be included. (Traditional) (intermediate)

The arts are vessels for the planetary archetypes to express themselves in their full spectrum. Solar returns are a cornerstone technique in natal forecasting and prediction, but many traditional texts fail to address big questions we have in the 21st century. How do we work with relocated returns? Can you go somewhere else on your birthday and expect your year to change? How are trends and themes analyzed across astrological years? Additional Lectures:

Sunday / 1:45 pm PDT – Finding Fortuna: A Technical Mirroring of the Mind

Although it is clear that ancient astrologers considered both the domicile and exaltation rulers of the signs to be of great importance, it isn’t clear how the earliest astrologers differentiated the two categories of planetary rulers, either philosophically or in practical application. In this talk, I will present a working hypothesis about what the underlying differences might have been and how we might use each category uniquely when reading birth charts. (Traditional) (intermediate)

Additional Lecture:

Saturday / 10:30 am PDT – Searching for the Soul of Ancient Astrology

Lecture Description:
The Game Changers of our Destinies. Personal planets, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, represent the drive to establish our lives, build, and function, but are thematically associated with their higher Octaves: the Transpersonal planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, representing the forces of evolution that challenge the status quo and prompt the evolution of consciousness. Maurice will take us on this extraordinary journey from personal to transpersonal, examining the current context of Uranus in Taurus, Neptune in Pisces/Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. (EA) (all)

Additional Lecture:

Saturday/ 1:45 pm PDT – The Change of Empires: Saturn/Neptune Conjunction @ 0 Aries

Since time immemorial, poems, books and songs have been written about the joys and despair of ‘falling’ in love! Join me in exploring the transits, progressions and synastry contacts, that can awaken this deeper and often dormant part of our psyche, pulling us into a ‘well’ of passion, and at times despair. How can our chart help us navigate this process creatively, so that we can emerge feeling stronger and more connected to self-love? (Modern) (all)

Evolutionary astrology has many techniques for understanding various forms of trauma in the chart. In this lecture, Amanda will use client case studies and chart examples to illuminate ways hard aspects between the Moon, Uranus and related symbolism can describe a push toward healing intergenerational trauma and ancestral patterns that have shaped a person’s identity and emotional responses. When Steven’s first book was turned down, the rejection letter said “the thrust of modern astrology is egocentric and will always remain that way.” Spirituality is always about identifying with something that lies beyond our personalities, yet so much astrology is endless “me, me, me.” Can the two ever be reconciled, and if so, how?

Planets occupying the zodiacal sign opposite their domicile (ex Venus in Scorpio) are as far away from their home sign as possible within the zodiac, a condition that became known as being in “detriment.” Full of tension and creative potential, planets occupying their opposite sign take on an inverted quality that can bring feelings of alienation yet also bring about the emergence of new ideas from counter-cultural perspectives. There are sad characters, longing for love, but never finding it. Often they’re either lonely or entangled in impossible relationships. Astrologically, there’s a configuration they often have in common: hard aspects between Venus and the lunar nodes. Long ago, in another body and another time, love hurt them. We evolutionary astrologers can diagnose their wound, along with their compulsion to repeat it. Even better, we can help them cure themselves and move forward into genuine intimacy. In the foundational Tetrabiblos, Ptolemy lays out a simple system dividing human life into seven archetypal stages, each assigned to one of the seven visible planets. Chiron was discovered nearly fifty years ago. Since then, it has established itself solidly in our astrological vocabulary. It’s an odd beast, not a planet, but still quite impactful.
