Twelve is a number that occurs in developmental patterns in many disciplines, including astrology. The Twelve Steps of AA mirror the twelve signs of the zodiac and, as a model of spiritual development, has application in astrology. In particular, the Lunar Return theory suggests how to interpret this spiritual development through the sign and placement of the progressed Moon, especially in its third cycle when it is likely that spiritual growth along the horizontal axis of the signs is at its greatest.
